About the Kids Bilingual Network (KBN)

KBN is an international network of bilingual or multilingual families.
If you, for example, are French, you are married to a Japanese, and you live with your family in Japan, you will find that your children easily pick up the Japanese language. They go to a Japanese day care or school, have Japanese friends, watch Japanese tv, and so on.
You might find it difficult, though, to ensure that your children get as fluent in French as they are in Japanese. There are a lot of things you can do to improve their French, like only speaking French to them, reading French books for them, get tapes, videos, computer games in French language.
But one of the best way kids learn is when they are playing with other children. So why not try and find some other French/Japanese families in your neighborhood (or at least in the same city or region) and have them play together once in a while? That gives you also the chance to share your experiences with other parents that are in a similar situation.
That's where the Kids Bilingual Network comes in:

On this site you can look for other bilingual families in the country where you live, and submit your name and e-mail address, so others can contact you.
This service is free and not commercial, and I do not use your personal information for any other purpose. I do not list snail mail addresses or phone numbers, just e-mail addresses and relevant information about your family, the languages you speak, and where you live.
Have a look at the site, submit your entry, and tell others about it!
A few words about the owner of this site:

I overtook this site in 1998, and have since enjoyed working with it. I hope you will find it useful!
